Belle Reve Care Center

Rehabilitation plays a key role in the treatment of patients with limitations resulting from injuries, surgery, or general medical conditions. Arthritis, hip fracture, knee or hip replacement, respiratory, cardiac, stroke and diabetic conditions may require rehabilitative services.

Our program has been designed to aid the resident in regaining and maximizing his or her individual level of independence. To this end, the resident performs moderate exercises and physical activity to ensure successful convalescence and a speedy discharge to home.

Whether post-surgical or general health issues bring a patient to the Belle Reve Health Care Center, the best of care will be provided. Physical, speech and occupational therapies are available up to six days a week. Results-oriented programming has given the Belle Reve Rehabilitation Program a truly outstanding reputation with positive outcomes year after year.

Referrals are made by hospitals and orthopedic and other medical doctors. All services require a

physician's order. Because Belle Reve has a continuum of care, we are able to offer the residents of our Assisted Living and Alzheimer's Programs our in-house rehabilitation services. The three therapies Belle Reve offers are:

Physical Therapy - for ambulation, strengthening, transferring, pain management techniques, range of motion exercises, neurological rehabilitation.

Occupational Therapy - for positioning, fine motor coordination, hand rehabilitation. Patients learn to use walkers and extenders for greater independence upon returning home. Home environment assessment and environmental adaptation is available. Instruction is provided for daily living activities, such as bathing, dressing and homemaking.

Speech Therapy - for language disorders, cognitive and linguistic deficits, confusion and memory issues. Several swallowing and speech disorders are treated, including choking, coughing during meals, aspiration, difficulty speaking, improving slurred speech, and strengthening oral muscles.
